| Activiities of ASTER Working Groups |

The ASTER Project established the ASTER Science
Team comprised of Japanese and U.S. researchers in a wide spectrum
of fields including geology, geological resources, meteorology,
agriculture and forestry, and environmental science. ASTER
Science Team takes initiative to define the purpose of ASTER
Project and to coordinate its user requirements, which are
the basis to define specifications for the sensors, the ground
data processing systems, and sensor operations.
ASTER Science Team is separated with each working group (WG)
according to research subject. Each WG member not only does individual
research activities, but also participates in ASTER Science Team
Meeting held in turn in Japan and U.S., and does adjustment of
the progress of research and development, future research plan,
total activities of ASTER Science Project.
