ASTER data products are divided into three categories; the Standard Data Product, the Semi-Standard Data Product and the Special Data Product. For Standard Data Products, ASTER GDS (Japan) and EOSDIS (the US), in collaboration, process data received and then generate those Products.
On the other hand, Semi-Standard Data Products and Special Data Products are products that, as needed, either data system (ASTER GDS or EOSDIS) processes and generates on its own.
Higher Level Data Products Working Group coordinates and summarizes toward consensus on the specifications and procedures for Semi-Standard Data Products and Special Data Products, which are to be produced by Japan side, as well as Standard Data Products.
