Of all the issues for humanity to address, the global environmental change is the most important in view of human activities in the future.
Aiming at contributing broadly to the environmental study, EEco/Oceanography and Limnology WG intends to apply ASTER data to use in mapping and monitoring various ecosystems on the globe.
The Working Group develops and refines algorithms and makes validation plans with ASTER data for mapping and monitoring coral reefs, forests, wetlands, agricultural lands, arid lands, lake, coastal regions, Sea Ice and others.
